If rumours reaching our News Desk are anything to go by, then Vincent Kompany might just be moving on to F.C. Barcelona in the next season.
Reports emanating from The Mail Online have it that Barcelona are very interested in signing Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany in the coming football season.
Kompany, a Belgium international, will be out of contract by the end of the season and so could easily be tempted to move on after over a decade at the Etihad Stadium.
During his time with Manchester City, he put in three-hundred and thirty-nine appearances in all competitions, scoring nineteen goals while he has won three Premier League titles, three League Cups and the FA Cup.
His situation at the club has however changed as he has started just four league games so far this season with both John Stones and Aymeric Laporte ahead of him in the pecking order.
The reliable defender will have the opportunity to open talks with clubs outside of England in January, though there have been discussions over a potential new deal with Pep Guardiola’s side.
It is yet to be seen if the Citizens will be ready to let one of their erstwhile best defenders leave them now or decide to keep him on at the club.
