No one should be surprised if some people in Spain and even elsewhere in the world have not been able to go to sleep since last. Especially F.C. Barcelona fans.
It was surely a night to forget for F.C. Barcelona and its supporters last night in Italy as A.S. Roma as against all expectations were able to overturn a 1-4 deficit from the first leg game in Nou Camp a week back.
Clinical goals from Edin Dzeko in the 6th minute, Daniele De Rossi in the 58th minute and Konstantinos Manolas in the 82nd minute ensured that most soccer pundits were proved wrong on a night that possibly only the AS Roma coach and some of his players believed in the possibility of “roaming past” the almighty F.C. Barcelona into the 2018 European Champions’ League semi-finals.
AS Roma’s Manolas – who, like De Rossi, was guilty of scoring against his own team at Camp Nou – headed home eight minutes from time to put Eusebio Di Francesco’s side in the driving seat and ensure that his team recorded one of the most memorable come-backs in the recent history of the European Champions’ League Competition.
