The match between the Manchester City and Liverpool football clubs played this evening could have been classified as a title decider if not for the fact that the visitors already clinched the British Premier League title before this exciting match-up.
Manchester City were good hosts as they formed a guard of honor for the visitors before the kick-off.
Man City went on to win a match that had lost its real value as a result of the fact that Liverpool did not really need the points at stake.
As a result of that fact, the result of the match did not really matter much. But Liverpool will be at least slightly angry with the way they were dismantled by their nearest rivals, especially as they contributed to their own defeat with some uncharacteristically shambolic defending.
City were technically excellent at times, with De Bruyne, Sterling and Foden all excellent and Rodri a constant influence. It’ll be interesting to see how Liverpool react to this. Will they shrug it off and let the rest of the season fizzle out?
Or come back and annihilate poor old Aston Villa on Sunday? There will be personnel changes for that game, for sure.
