Luis Suarez And Dembele Shoot Barcelona Past Rayo Vallecano.

4th November, 2018

Barcelona enjoyed an away win against Rayo Vallecano when they beat the home team by 3-2 courtesy of goals from Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele in a La Liga match played on Saturday.

These two players only recently got the fans worried by their performances but have come out at the right time to calm all nerves.

In the case of Suarez, little did the fans know that his problem was that he had been playing with a nagging injury until he had the opportunity of under-going treatment during the international break.

He has since then shown that he is still the lethargic Luis Suarez we all knew. It is even more important that he is fully back to his old self at this crucial period when the Barca captain, Lionel Messi is injured and under-going treatment.

As for Dembele, it was the right time to douse all the rumours about the team asking him to look for new employers. He not only laughed off the insinuations but has gone on to show his capabilities on the field of play.

At the El-Clasico where he played for a few minutes only, he put in a very brilliant performance and provided the assist for the fifth goal for Barcelona. And now in the very next match after that, he scored a goal of his own to further prove to the fans and everyone else that he really means business.

On his own part, Luis Suarez scored a hat-trick in that particular game (the El-Clasico). And in the game against Rayo Vallecano, he scored a brace to show what he is capable of doing even in the absence of Messi. This is surely good news for the Barcelona team and its fans worldwide as it goes to show that Barca is no longer impotent without their talisman, Messi.

Even though Messi is presently irreplaceable in the team as shown in the way the team struggled to win the game in the very last minutes, it is all the same very encouraging to see the way they were able to achieve the overall objective of winning not just this game but also the other two played without the magical Messi.

In the game itself, Barcelona took the lead in the 10th minute when a fantastic long ball from Rakitic found Jordi Alba who sent the ball through to Luis Suarez for a very cool finish from the Uruguayan.

Somehow, the team instead of going for more goals, decided to relax and as is to be expected in such a situation, the home team came more and more into the game.

Their efforts paid off as José Pozo pulled off a great strike from the edge of the box that hit the post before going in, with no chance for Ter Stegen. The second goal for the home team came as De Tomás headed a cross against the post, and substitute Álvaro García scored with his first touch to give his team a shocking 2-1 lead.

Realizing that something had to be done quickly if the game was to be won, Ernesto Valverde quickly brouht in Ousmane Dembélé, Arturo Vidal and Munir to add some real bite into the attack.

This brought about the needed effect as Barcelona took control of the game and not only scored the equalizer in the 87th minute through Ousmane Dembele but even went on to score a third through Luis Suarez in the 90th minute and run away with three very important away points.
