Inter and Dzeko reach agreement

Inter are on the verge of signing Edin Dzeko after reaching a personal agreement with the Roma striker, Calciomercato reports.

The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their attack after hiring Antonio Conte as coach, while Mauro Icardi’s future remains uncertain.

Dzeko is their top target for the summer and they have already agreed a deal with him. Now they will have to persuade Roma to let him go.

Strootman told he must leave Marseille

Kevin Strootman looks set to leave Marseille this summer after the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League.

Marseille finished fifth in Ligue 1, ensuring they will not play in European competition next season. Strootman joined the French side last year in a €25 million (£23m/$29m) deal and signed a five-year contract, but he is too expensive for Marseille to keep now.

“We did not qualify for European football, and at Marseille they went out for Champions League football,” Strootman told Algemeen Dagblad. “So in a conversation the president has open and frankly: ‘you are an expensive force and without Champions League football it is difficult for us’. They want to get rid of me, is the message.”

Barca in Rodrigo talks with Valencia

Barcelona are advancing on their interest in Valencia striker Rodrigo, according to Sport.

The Spanish champions believe the 28-year-old would be a good fit for their side after his 15-goal season with Los Che and coach Ernesto Valverde is also a big fan.

The Camp Nou outfit have made contact with Valencia already, but they may hold out for the €120 million in his release clause, while Rodrigo has another option as Roma reportedly want him too.

Eintracht Frankfurt have made their first official bid to sign Kevin Trapp from Paris Saint-Germain on a permanent basis, Sky Sport in Germanyreports.

Trapp moved to Frankfurt from the French side on loan last summer and impressed in his 45 appearances for the Europa League semi-finalists.

While Frankfurt want him back on a long-term deal, PSG are considering holding on to the 28-year-old and extending his contract.

Barcelona have told Matthijs de Ligt they will not improve on their latest contract offer as the battle to sign the Ajax defender continues.

Spanish newspaper Sport reports that the Catalan side are still waiting on the 19-year-old to give a firm answer on their latest negotiations and told him in their most recent meeting that they will not go above their current offer.

But De Ligt still has other options sounding him out as Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be stepping up their interest while Juventus are still trying to sign the Netherlands international.

Real Madrid to sell Reguilon

Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke says he sees no reason for Mario Gotze to leave the club despite reports of Arsenal’s interest.

The Germany international has been linked with a move away and has just one year left on his contract with the Bundesliga side.

“I know no reason why he should go,” Watzke said, adding that Gotze has “not requested a transfer”.

Newcastle have not contacted Gattuso

Giampaolo favourite to replace Gattuso at Milan

Man Utd still targeting Trippier

Trippier is not untouchable, but Levy’s demands of £30 million ($38m) have made United wonder whether paying £45m for Crystal Palace‘s Aaron Wan-Bissaka, might be a better investment.

The interest in both full-backs makes it clear Ole Gunnar Solskjaer does not yet trust Diogo Dalot.

Romelu Lukaku hopes to join Antonio Conte at Inter but will need Manchester United to drop their asking price and pay part of his salary, according to the Mirror.

United want most of the £75 million ($95m) they paid for Lukaku back in any transfer, but Inter are unable to afford that level of fee.

And despite Lukaku losing a percentage of his wages after United failed to qualify for the Champions League, Inter would require United pay a further chunk of his £10.15m salary.
