The Nerazzurri are looking to strengthen their attack after hiring Antonio Conte as coach, while Mauro Icardi’s future remains uncertain.
Dzeko is their top target for the summer and they have already agreed a deal with him. Now they will have to persuade Roma to let him go.
Strootman told he must leave Marseille
Marseille finished fifth in Ligue 1, ensuring they will not play in European competition next season. Strootman joined the French side last year in a €25 million (£23m/$29m) deal and signed a five-year contract, but he is too expensive for Marseille to keep now.
“We did not qualify for European football, and at Marseille they went out for Champions League football,” Strootman told Algemeen Dagblad. “So in a conversation the president has open and frankly: ‘you are an expensive force and without Champions League football it is difficult for us’. They want to get rid of me, is the message.”

The Spanish champions believe the 28-year-old would be a good fit for their side after his 15-goal season with Los Che and coach Ernesto Valverde is also a big fan.
