It is not news that things have not been very “normal” at Camp Nou for sometime now due to a combination of events and actions or in-actions. That is why it is important to take a cursory look at how things stand presently before the match against Valencia.

Team News for Valencia game
The team will very likely make changes for Saturday’s match against Valencia. Clement Lenglet had a busy international break but might retain his position in the defence after Umtiti suffered an injury on international duty for France.
Sergi Roberto might just come in for Nelson Semedo who had a knock while on duty for Portugal, while Ivan Rakitic and Luis Suarez may likely start the match.
Will Messi play in Dortmund?
Messi is definitely going to be out of the Valencia clash. He however faces a late test to see if he plays in Dortmund.
As things stand, Barcelona will train on Monday which will be the last chance for Lionel Messi to prove his fitness ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
The team will train in Barcelona at 12:00 p.m. local time and then fly out to Dortmund in the afternoon.
Marc-Andre ter Stegen Unhappy
Meanwhile Barcelona’s first choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has been talking again about his disappointment at being on the bench for Germany over the recent international break.
Here is what he had to say on the issue: “It is not easy to find an explanation as I am giving the best account of myself in each game to make the decision more difficult. I am trying [to become the first-choice goalkeeper] anyway, but this trip with the national team has been a tough blow for me.”
Albert Celades comes back home
The new Valencia manager Albert Celades will bring his team to the Camp Nou on Saturday and return to the club where he began his playing career. Celades came through the youth academy and spent four seasons at Barcelona before joining Celta Vigo.
Samuel Eto’o wants Mourinho to return to Barcelona
A former Barcelona striker, Samuel Eto’o has been talking and thinks Jose Mourinho should come back to the Camp Nou. He explained: “It would be beautiful. I’d like to ask Jose to come to Mallorca, that would be good, the best city in Spain. But I’d like him at Barca even more.”
Former Barcelona goalkeeper faces old mates
The erstwhile Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen is seriously looking forward to taking on his old team on Saturday in La Liga.
He said: “We are ready to win at the Camp Nou, but FC Barcelona are a very tough and competitive side – especially at home. We have a very good feeling after beating RCD Mallorca before the international break, and gained confidence in that game.
Even though we have had a change of coach, we still have a good feeling that it will be possible to get a good result.”
Former Barcelona President Joan Gaspart warns on Messi
There are reports that the former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart thinks that Lionel Messi’s interview with Sport contained warnings about the direction the club is headed in.
He said: “After every statement came a ‘but’ and while the club might understand them as irrelevant, I think they are warnings that he doesn’t like how the club is going.”
