If reports reaching our News Desk is anything to go by, then Yerry Mina might just be soon on his way to Manchester United from F.C. Barcelona.
It is not news that that the defender, a former Palmeiras centre-back who moved to F.C. Barcelona only in January, has not been able to secure a space in the first team line-up of the Spanish Soccer Giants.
In the few games he was given an opportunity to show what he is capable of, he was not able to live up to the coaches’ expectations.
However to the surprise of many fans, the young defender showed a different side of himself during the just concluded 2018 FIFA World cUp Competition in Russia in the colours of his country, Colombia as he not only put up superlative defensive performances but even went on to score some decisive goals for his team.
This performance has not escaped the notice of some European top club’s scouts and managers as some of them are now jostling to secure his release from F.C. Barcelona.
Top among these clubs is no other than Manchester United who have been on the look-out for a solution to their central defence challehges.
F.C. Everton were known to have been heavily linked with a move for the 23-year-old but now, Manchester United are said to have swooped in, hoping to hijack the move.
As a matter of fact, reports emanating from Spain have it that Manchester United representatives have jetted off to Spain in order to close a €40 million deal for the player who joined the Catalan powerhouse for just below €12 million.
If this deal pulls through, it will be a win-win situation for both clubs and the player in particular who will now get more playing time at a top European club.
