Edinson Cavani is close to sealing a move to Atletico Madrid.
Diego Simeone is keen to add another striker to his ranks and the Uruguayan is seen as the ideal fit.
Cavani has fallen out of favour at Paris Saint-Germain, and is keen on a switch to Atleti, meaning that an agreement between the two clubs is all that is missing.
Mauro Icardi‘s arrival has seen Cavani lose his starting spot and, although PSG would prefer to keep him until the end of the season, they don’t want to rupture relations with a player who has been such a loyal servant over the years.
The 32-year-old is out of contract in the summer, but Atletico are keen on wrapping up a move now in order to give the side a boost in the second half of the campaign.
Cavani has a two-and-a-half-year deal on the table from Los Rojiblancos and a transfer could be done in the coming days.
