The good news for Tottenham Hotspurs ahead of their clash with Barcelona this evening at the Wembley Stadium in London is that the team’s number one goalkeeper and captain, Hugo Lloris will be back in action for this game.
It will be recalled that Lloris has not played for Spurs since the 3-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 27 due to a thigh problem.
The team captain missed his side’s Champions League first game in which they let slip a one-goal advantage in the closing stages to lose 2-1 to Inter in Milan.
On a sad note however, the team will be missing the services of some vital players as a result of injuries. Christian Eriksen, Jan Vertonghen, Serge Aurier, Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli will all be missing this evening’s Champions League clash with Barcelona.
Dele Alli who missed the Premier League win over Huddersfield Town at the weekend with a hamstring injury, would not only miss this game today but is said not likely to be back in action before the international break, meaning he will also sit out Saturday’s league game with Cardiff City.
Another injured player, Michel Vorm, is said to be responding very well to treatment that he is expected to be back in training before the end of the week as he continues to recover from a knee injury.
