Reports reaching us from Spanish media has it that F.C. Barcelona is still very much on the trail of Paul Pogba despite having virtually secured the signing of Arturo Vidal from F.C. Bayern Munich.
According to the sources, the real plan is for a Barcelona midfield comprising both players partnering one another.
The main challenge to this plan is the fact that the Barcelona Management is finding it hard to negotiate with the Manchester United side as the latter seem determined to hold on to their star player for as long as possible.
The timing of the whole process is also a point mitigating against its success since the new British Premier League season is just a few days away and its transfer deadline closes at 5pm on Thursday.
F.C. Barcelona may just have to wait for the next transfer window to try their luck again.
The Pogba to Barcelona issue all started this summer after he supposedly had a meeting with the club’s new director of football Eric Abidal. The player has however not made any statement on the issue so far.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s Manager, Valverde was asked if there was a deal in the offing for the France World Cup winner and this is what he had to say to press men on the issue:
“Pogba is a great player who is on another team,” he said.
“We are respectful with players who are in other clubs.
