Cristiano Ronaldo did what he knows how to do best as he came to the rescue of his team, Juventus F.C. by scoring a brace to ensure victory in their away match against Empoli on Saturday in a Serie A league game. The match ended 2-1 in favour of Juve.
Ronaldo has now scored seven goals in just 10 league appearances for the Italian giants whom he joined some months ago.
The weariness from the game against Manchester United midweek in the Champions League showed in the players of Juventus as they started the game very slowly, a situation that allowed Empoli to score first in the 28th minute as Caputo completed a quick break with a splendid curling finish beyond Wojciech Szczesny.
The equaliser for Juventus came after Ismael Bennacer bundled over stand-in skipper Paulo Dybala and the center referee duly awarded the visitors a penalty kick which Ronaldo scored with a cool finish.
His second goal for his team was however a real beauty to behold. Ronaldo unleashed a swerving rocket from 25 yards which whistled past a helpless Provedel in goal for the hosts some 20 minutes from time.
Even the player confessed that he could not remember how he scored the goal properly because of how fast it happened. When asked about that goal, the following is what he had to say:
“I don’t remember my goal very well, I’ll have to watch it again! It happened very quickly. I was confident and went for it.”
This win has now moved Juventus seven points clear in the Serie A table standings.
