The Champions League Pairings for the last-16 have been revealed and it came with mixed feelings for the British Premier League teams.
While some of them got relative winnable games, others were simply not so lucky as they were paired against real formidable European teams.
A good example of the not so winnable games for Premiership teams is the Manchester United vs Paris St. Germain pairing. While there is nothing impossible, it is very unlikely that Manchester United will go through especially on current form.
The case is not bad in the case of present league leaders, Liverpool as they have been paired against Bayern Munich in a clash of the “Reds”. On current form, one can surely tip Liverpool to go through even though it will be a real herculean task.
The best chance for the premiership teams to go through to the next round however fell to the reigning Premiership Champions, Manchester City as they have been paired against stubborn Schalke 04 of Germany. A very doable task for City.
Tottenham Hotspurs were paired against a currently “hot” Borussia Dortmund.
This is a game that is surely going to be a real test of maturity for the London team as the Germans are currently firing on all cylinders in the Bundesliga.
