Barcelona is surely not going to have it easy in the on-going negotiations with Atletico Madrid over the possible signing of Antoine Griezmann during this summer’s soccer transfer window.

But then, the Blaugranes are simply not ready to throw in the towel just yet in their chase to sign Antoine Griezmann despite the “road block” mounted by the Atletico Madrid management.

Atletico Madrid had gone on to threaten to take legal action over Barcelona’s pursuit of the Frenchman in a statement on Friday.

However, sources close to the Camp Nou have it that Josep Maria Bartomeu will make a final attempt at striking a deal with Atletico Madrid in the coming hours.

Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau has already offered to pay Griezmann’s 120 million euro release clause in installments – a proposal that was rejected by Miguel Angel Gil Marin and the Atletico board.

Meanwhile, the Madrid based team has stated that they expect Griezmann to return to training as normal on Sunday, so it looks like Bartomeu and Barcelona are going to have to get the deal done this weekend.

Barca have been planning for the forward’s arrival for the last few days and had planned to present him at the Camp Nou next week.

There is one person that could speed talks up and that is Nelson Semedo.

Diego Simeone wants the right-back at the Wanda Metropolitano but Barcelona have made it clear that they don’t want him to leave.

And so, we wait to see how things finally turn up in these complicated negotiations over the next few days.
