Barcelona to splash about 265 million euros on Frenkie de Jong Antoine Griezmann and others.

With the pains of once again losing out in the Champions League Competition still very fresh on their minds, the management of F.C. Barcelona has decided to really spend big in this summer’s transfer window in order to acquire the services of some of the best players in the European soccer circle.

Names like Antoine Griezmann, Frenkie de Jong and possibly Matthijs de Ligt are some of those being mentioned as the immediate targets for recruitment. Aside from those new recruitments, back-ups are also being sought for players like Jordi Alba and Jasper Cillessen.

Of the three main targets for the Blaugrana, only De Jong has been confirmed to have agreed to join the team as reports have it that he has already put pen on paper for a fee in the region of 75m euros.

De Ligt seem not to be too willing to come to Nou Camp for now while the case of Antoine Griezmann is also not exactly a done deal yet. If Barcelona is to get the services of the duo, then the team will have to cough out about 190 million euros extra.

The need for this amount of money has naturally brought up the issue of selling out some of the current players in the Barca squad.

So, who and who may just be on the list of those to be put on the market?

Number one name that seems to be a sure one on that list is Philippe Coutinho. The player surely has not met the expectations of the fans and management of Barcelona since arrival at the Nou Camp. He is free to leave the team for fee of 100 million euros. Some top teams like Chelsea are said to be interested in acquiring his services, according to reports.

Another name on that list is Samuel Umtiti especially if Barcelona succeeds in luring De Ligt to Nou Camp. Barca are said to be willing to part ways with him for a fee close to 40 million euros. It is not going to be easy to sell him though as a result of the fact that he is facing a complicated knee injury and also because he has no intention to leave the club.

Jasper Cillessen has his name on that list because he has made it clear that he wants to leave the club. He is valued at 30 million but no team has made a move yet for his services. In the event that he eventually leaves, Barcelona will subsequently have to comb the market for a back-up to Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

Another name on the list is Malcolm.

Barcelona spent 41 million euros on Malcolm and are not willing to offload him for a lower amount despite his limited playing time this season at the Camp Nou.

Also on that list is the name Andre Gomes.

He is currently on loan at Everton. The Portuguese has had a good season in the Premier League. Tottenham Hotspur is understood to be interested in his acquisition with Barcelona expected to demand between 20 and 25m euros for his release.

Then there is Denis Suarez who left for Arsenal in January, but hasn’t managed to gain much playing time in England and his future remains uncertain, while his price can’t be estimated at the moment.

Marc Cucurella is one player that Barcelona plan to activate their re-purchase option of four million euros in order to bring him back from Eibar. The idea is to sell him again for a fee around 10 million euros and maintain a buy-out clause.

Rafinha is one player who is expected to leave the club, but his departure will not bring any serious profit to Barcelona, as his lengthy injury makes it hard for potential buyers to invest in him.

One name being mentioned on the list does not really belong there is that of Ivan Rakitic. This is a player that is not just a starter but one that is considered a very reliable one. Of course with his price tag set at 50 million euros, there is a good number of teams that will be very keen to sign a player of his calibre.
