A new era seems to just be starting out at Barcelona in the midst of all the unpleasant news surrounding the team in the last few days and there is one person responsible for the bright light at the end of the tunnel. His name is Ansu Fati.

In the midst of the storms at the Camp Nou in recent times shows up a talented home grown player who is helping douse the flames that seems to have recently engulfed the team with his incredible performances as he has taken the little opportunity given to him to force his way into the first team.

This young man is just 16 years and 318 days as he not only finds the net but also goes on to create an assist in his first game in the starting XI. This positive news could not have come at a better time for Barcelona and its teeming fans across the globe.

This young man named Ansu Fati is simply a record breaker.

At just 16 years and 318 days the lad born in Guinea-Bissau has already had the experts rifling through the record books. After becoming the youngest ever goalscorer in the league two weeks ago against Osasuna, he set more records during Barça’s 5-2 win over Valencia at Camp Nou.

Osasuna – FC Barcelona

The very first of the records was broken even before a ball had been kicked as the Barça number 31 was named in the starting XI. Thus, Ansu Fati became the youngest ever Barça player to be in the starting XI for a game at Camp Nou, beating Marc Muniesa’s record set in 2009.

It is on record that only Vicenç Martínez was younger in XI home and away when he featured at 16 years and 280 days in a Clásico against Real Madrid in 1941.

If the fans thought that was special, they were in for a more serious surprise as the best was yet to come. In just the second minute of the game Ansu Fati scored his first ever goal at Camp Nou.

Then only five minutes later he was back in the thick of the action when he created an assist for Frenkie de Jong to score his first goal for the club. As such, the striker became the youngest player to score and create an assist in the history of La Liga.

A record for the ages, we dare say.

This goal by Fati also means he becomes the youngest ever goalscorer at Camp Nou from any team.

Remember the name, Ansu Fati as more records are bound to fall. You can confidently place a bet on that fact.
