2018 US Open – Serena Williams Defeats Her Sister Venus In Two Straight Sets.

As expected by many fans at the 2018 US Open, Serena Williams defeated her sister Venus to move on to the US Open fourth round in New York. Serena  just 71 minutes to win the game at 6-1 6-2.

Serena Williams’ next opponent is  Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi. It will be recalled that it is this same Kanepi that ousted the world number one Simona Halep in the first round and has not dropped a set so far at this tournament.

It there fore promises to be a real explosive contest for both players and a very attractive one for tennis fans. According to Serena Williams, her game against her senior sister “was my best match since I have returned.”

On the other hand, her sister Venus said she thought it was Serena’s best performance in their matches, because she did not “even get to really touch any balls”.

“I don’t think I did a lot wrong. But she just did everything right,” Venus told a news conference.

“Obviously, that level is definitely where she’s going to want to stay during this whole tournament.”

With this win, Serena Williams has reached the last 16 at Flushing Meadows for the 17th successive time.
