Manchester United finally got back to winning ways as they defeated Real Madrid by two goals to one at the International Champions Cup to wrap up their United States tour on a positive note in Miami.

As if in response to the scathing comments made by their Manager, Jose Mourinho after their last game, the ManU players  especially Alexis Sanchez, came out blazing in this encounter to show the stuff they are really made of.

Jose Mourinho was surely looking like a frustrated figure throughout the pre-season tour, as he clearly showed unhappiness with the lack of transfer activity and the absence of his stars which culminated in a 4-1 defeat by Liverpool last week.

This time around however, he managed to field a strong starting XI, which included David de Gea, Fred, Sanchez, Mata, Herrera, Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw.

Sanchez it was who opened scoring in the game (his second in two games) before supplying an assist to Ander Herrera for the second Manchester United goal, all in the first half of the game.

Karim Benzema scored for Real Madrid on the stroke of half-time to reduce the deficit.

The opponents, Real Madrid who were playing their first match since the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus only really got into the game in the second half as their new signing Vinicius showed flashes of what is to come with a very solid display of soccer artistry in the match.

Real Madrid recently acquired the services of the Brazilian Madrid after finalising his €45million move from Flamengo. The 18-year-old Vinicius was a shining light as he showed glimpses of his enormous potential for the Madrid team.

Real Madrid were playing their first game of this pre-season and they naturally looked rusty and sluggish in the first half of the game.

They had debuts from Vinicius and Alvaro Odriozola. Karim  Benzema and Gareth Bale started the match, with the likes of Toni Kroos, Isco and Marcos Asensio on the bench.
