F.C. Chelsea Team News In First Match Today Away To Huddersfield Town.

11th August, 2018

Maurizio Sarri makes his Premier League debut as Manager today as he leads F.C. Chelsea out against Huddersfield Town in an away match at the John Smith’s Stadium in the team’s first match of the new Premiership season.

The Manager will surely not be the only one in the Chelsea team to make a debut as at least two players will likely be doing same. The first one is the current world record goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after making his move to the Blues from Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday evening.

Then of course, there is Jorginho who followed Sarri to Chelsea from Napoli. Even though the Manager would not confirm if Kepa would start the game, there is every likelihood that the new goalkeeper will be in goal at some point today if not from the very beginning.

There is the need for him to settle down as quickly as possible into the squad and English style of football and today’s match is one that can just be suitable for such a purpose.

As for the rest of the squad, World Cup winner N’Golo Kante is likely to return to the midfield to take charge as usual with Ross Barkley also likely to feature alongside him after having a very impressive pre-season with the team.

“Soccer wizard” Hazard is as usual expected to take his place in the team’s line-up for this match even though there are some indications that Maurizio Sarri is considering resting him for the more competitive game coming up against Arsenal the following week.

In the attacking line-up, the gaffer has a little decision to make on whether to start Olivier Giroud or the wasteful Alvaro Morata. One of them will surely likely start from the bench as well as possibly Tammy Abraham.

Chelsea’s first game at the beginning of last season was one the fans struggled to quickly forget as the team crumbled 2-3 to Burnley after having two players sent off in that game. The Blues will surely want to exorcise that ghost today by starting on a winning note.

And so, how is the team likely to line-up for this game? Our guess is that the starting eleven will look this way:

Kepa, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso, Jorginho, Kante, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Giroud.
